As Rajasthan battles a scorching summer,the State Government steps up toprovide shelters to its denizens as agesture of empathy. Divisional Commissionerof Jaipur Kiran Soni Gupta tells usmore…..The dog days of summer are here again andthe desert State of Rajasthan is swelteringunder the blistering heat wave. With the temperaturetouching a record of 50 degree Celsiusin various parts of the State, the heatwave conditionshave taken a toll on the denizens and atleast four deaths have been reported in the pastfew days. As a humanly gesture, the RajasthanGovernment has taken up the inimitable enterpriseof providing temporary shelter places tothe needy, so that they can brave the heat andsay boo to the rising mercury levels, which isaffecting the normal lives of the people.


Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur KiranSoni Gupta, who is also known as a social activist,has played a consequential role in givingcover to the disadvantaged denizens of Jaipurand its nearby districts. The act shows the sensitivityof the government towardspeople, mostly labourers who have noplace to stay to brace the maddeningheat. "In Jaipur divisionwhich has fivedistricts, we have already put up 385shelter places. Moreover, the workinghours of the workers have been reducedto half with no compromise ontheir wages," says she.

It is no wonder that the RajasthanGovernment has taken a giant step towardshumanity and is definitelymakinga remarkable difference in thepeople's lives.
