Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer C Umashankar, was in the recent past suspended by the State Government on charges of producing false caste certificates. Umashankar has approached the National Commission for Scheduled Castes for  justice through a detailed report. The report has opened a Pandora’s box, quite literally, as far as corruption in a Tamil Nadu State PSU, Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT)  is concerned.

The report is Umashankar’s testimony of how and why he is allegedly being throttled by the State Government,  the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and his family since 2008.

Bureaucracy Today has access to exclusive documents which pose serious allegations against the CM’s son MK Alagiri, the present Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India, C Chandramouli, and former state IT Secretary Vivek Harinarain, IAS, who in mysterious circumstances took voluntary retirement.

ETL Infrastructure: a curious case
The ELCOT, under the Department of Information Technology, has been promoting many joint ventures keeping in mind the State Government’s mandate to promote IT based industry and exports.
