Nine-year-old Shagun Agarwal is a perfect blend of beauty & intelligence

She has got sparkling eyes full of dreams and wants to fulfill every wish she has. Meet the nine-year-old Shagun Agarwal, the youngest jury member for the 34th International Circus Festival at Monte Carlo in Monaco, who represented India.

When asked if she ever visited any circus before going to Monte Carlo, an excited Shagun smiles as she says, “No, before getting selected as a jury member, our teacher asked all of us to draw a circus and my painting got selected.”

The members were selected on the basis of a Students’ Art Contest organised by the Princess of Monaco, Princess Stephanie, and the President of the International Circus Festival. The festival was held from January 14 to January 20, 2010.
“In six days we judged 50 entries and 15 got selected through their performance. For the first time I was judging others and it gave me immense pleasure,” adds Shagun.
Shagun is not only good at drawing but is also a classical dancer and learns Kathak. Keep off from her for she can also lay you down as she is also training in taekwondo.
But like any other normal child, she loves to play with her friends and during her stay in Monte Carlo, she befriended other junior juries. “We used to talk through sign language as they were speaking French. Though I know a little bit of French, it helped me understand what they meant,” said Shagun.

She further adds, “I want to explore the world of art and carry on with it in future. If given a chance, I would love to become a writer, where I can paint human as well as nature.”

She is a bunch of talents and it is reflected through her drawings and imagination. A kid who had never seen a circus in her life, drew the perfect piece. Her imagination and the ability to peep into different moods reflect a perfect blend of beauty, focus and intelligence.
